UPDATE AND NEWS: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2012

Well, 2011 was a slow year, but BRIEFCASE BLUES spent the year doing what it does best. PLAYING…

From Columbia, Louisiana (for Caldwell Parish) all the way out to Scottsdale, AZ (Scottsdale Auto Museum)-and everything in between. 2011 Also saw BRIEFCASE performing our fourth annual booking at the “Cool Thursdays” Concert Series for the DALLAS ARBORTEUM for over 2,000 patrons. The Scottsdale Automobile Museum was a hoot, too; glad to have made new friends like Juliana Brutsche and Johnny Betancourt.

PLUS: Dallas Park Lane…City Of Prosper…Mansfield…all over Texas. It’s all been good.

Now BRIEFCASE is headed back out into the national scene.  We’re pushing our promotional envelope to places from East Los Angeles (Bell Gardens) where we played July 3rd, to B.B. King’s in NYC for Bank of Australia / New Zealand (ANZ). Maybe we’ll even play Air Force Bases in Japan again.

We will let everybody know now, especially through our FACEBOOK site (www.facebook.com/BriefcaseBlues). We now use the social network to list events, and connect with the groups that want to know “where” and “when” we can be seen. “LIKE” us there – and you’re in-the-know!

AT COOL THURSDAYS CONCERT SERIES

AT THE DALLAS ARBORETUM

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2010

DALLAS - BRIEFCASE BLUES, will perform on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, Thursday September 23. The Cool Thursdays Concert series is presented by Methodist Health System. Each concert has a history of selling out, and tickets are limited. The show begins at 7pm and ends at 9pm.

9-piece Blues Brothers tribute band BRIEFCASE BLUES (now celebrating its 28TH YEAR as a showband) will perform classic hits including "Soul Man", "Jailhouse Rock", "Hey Bartender" and many more, continuing to delight crowds wanting to "Shake a Tailfeather" at each exciting concert. 

Guests can pack their own picnic or purchase food near the kiosks at the concert stage and lawn.

Concert Information: Gates open at the Dallas Arboretum at 6pm and the concert begins at 7pm with seating available on the lawn.  Parking is complimentary for all concert attendees. Individual tickets are available for $8 for Dallas Arboretum members, $16 for adult non members and $8 for children 3-12. Admission fee increases $2 night of show.

BRIEFCASE BLUES™ is still going strong -

and 2010 is our 27TH year!  

We begin the year with the annual Mardi Gras Masquerade for the Dallas Chapter of the AMERICAN RED CROSS, this Saturday night at Dallas' House Of Blues. On February 16th - the REAL Mardi Gras - come meet with us at:

BRIEFCASE BLUES™ is going global again - THIS time with a bid for a national television spot!  The boys were recently contacted by media group Pocket Change NYC to do their version of the the SAFE AUTO commercial jingle. After a writing session by Graham Richards of Richards Brothers Music, a quick trip to Garland Recording Studios (thanks to producer Tom Jordan), the audio was done - click the above button to hear it!

THE NEXT THING: the video will be finished and posted here about the 5th of November - and will also be seen on YouTube. Looks even better than it sounds!

NOW FOR THE BEST PART: we will be having the video VOTED upon by YOU - and everybody in the WORLD - ON NOVEMBER 26th. If there are enough votes, BRIEFCASE BLUES™ will be awarded the contract for the next SAFE AUTO television commercial!

The 30 May show at Camden, AR has been POSTPONED to a later date in June, announced Gary Rebis today of SPECTRA-TECH, one of the prime sponsors of the upcoming concert. The cause of the postponement was due to the excessive rains that have plagued the Arkansas River area - and subsequent flooding of the venue at RIVERWOODS.

The show will be reset for a weekend in June, possibly as early as 6 June.

By now you can see that BRIEFCASE BLUES™ has been around for a while - considering that as of the 24th of this month we will have been "at it" since that date, 1983. That's twenty-five years, a fact to which NO OTHER BLUES BROTHERS tribute group can lay claim.
